America is responsible for the political crisis in Bangladesh. Awami League was ousted by their conspiracy. He resigned to stop the death march in the country. Six days after arriving in India, former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina broke her silence. After resigning from the post of Prime Minister, he gave a message to the Awami League leaders and workers and the countrymen for the first time.
Sheikh Hasina alleged that she was the victim of a conspiracy for not handing over the coral island St. Martin in the south of Bangladesh to America. He would not have been deposed if he had given up St. Martin and the Bay of Bengal. Sheikh Hasina’s government has been at loggerheads with America for a long time. Hasina had opened up about the issue even before the parliamentary elections. America canceled his visa after he came to India. It was then that the fire was detected. He broke his silence and blamed America for the unrest in the country.
Sheikh Hasina did not get a chance to record her speech to the nation before leaving the country. However, this time he said in a statement, ‘I have resigned so that there are no more death marches in the country. BNP wanted to seize power by relying on dead bodies of students. If I had left the island of St. Martin, I would still be in power today. Had I been in the country, more lives might have been lost. And wealth would be wasted. I didn’t want that. So I resigned.’
